Outstanding weight rack Aug 09, 2008
By Brian L. Peterson How complicated can a weight rack be? Not very. But this came in a flat box - easy to ship, easy to assemble. Looks good, and with half a ton of plates plus a 7 foot Olympic bar, as stable as they come. Superb home gym addition, highly recommended.

Perfect for me Jan 17, 2010
By Andrew Overbay It was nice to recieve a product that met my standards. This tree can hold two olympic bars and both my sets of standard 300 lb sets perfectly with room for a few more of the smaller weights. Very beefy construction and very easy to assemble with a single 5/8 wrench for a total of only 7 bolts. Pegs are olympic size and chrome and come pre-lubricated. It came with touch up paint, but mine was crushed and dried up (not a big deal to me). It's nice that it has some wiggle room built in at the bottom so that when you place it where you want you can make it completely level before tightning the bolts. For the guy that said the bottom steel was 7 inches tall, we all know what we tell our wives but it's more like 4 inches high at the base, still good enough to work the calves though. One thing to note is that if you put in a standard olympic 7 foot bar in the tree and you have 8 foot ceilings like mine, it is a little cumbersome to get the bar in and out without hitting the ceiling but it does work.

Disappointed, but it works Dec 31, 2010
By Dan This product was a bit of a disappointment. The way that the chrome tubes attach to the frame is with a single hex bolt with a hex nut. The idea is that the hex bolt is tightened first and then the nut. Well, even after doing this the tube is wobbly, but what is worse is that I've managed to tear apart two of the hex bolts when trying to tighten them. On top of that, I've asked body solid to send me replacement bolts two times, and both times they sent me the wrong bolt! I'm going to go to home depot to get the right bolt. Anyway, the thing works but I expected more from body solid.

This weight tree is substantial Nov 12, 2009
By Richard D. Thomson The 300lbs of weights that I have easily fits, with room to spare, on this large weight tree. The chromed arms are a nice touch and makes sliding the weights on and off easy. Spending a little more for this product was a good choice. Some of the other trees are pretty wimpy in comparison. The base feet are big(7 inches height). I use them to stand on for dumbbell calve exercises.

Will Hold Weights, Just Not Securely Feb 22, 2012
By PGM I was looking for a solid weight tree as I have a lot of plates that needed off the floor. A lot of the gear that I have is from Body Solid and the reviews that I had read on this item were good, so I felt confident in my purchase.
When the weight tree arrived, the box was almost completely in tact, and the parts were well organized inside the box. I got all the parts out and read the instructions. Some of the other reviews for this item state that their tree came with a wrench included for assembly. While I never use those pieces of garbage, mine did not; just a word of warning in case you don't have the proper tools for assembly (5/8 inch wrench).
I got the tree assembled in about 10 minutes. Everything was fine until I put a spring collar on one of the chrome tubing sleeves, and it slid on without me even having to compress it!
This is the reason why this tree only has a 3-star review from me. Body Solid sends a warning with all of their items that can carry weights on them (I got one with my squat/bench rack from Body Solid) that "weight horn collars must be used to lock the plates onto the weight posts. Failure to use weight horn collars properly may result in death or serious injury."
I understand that this is just a liability issue for them, but how can they post that warning on items where Olympic collars don't even fit on the bars!?
I knew that something was up, so i got a measuring tape and measured the bars on the weight tree. Now, the circumference on Olympic bar sleeves is 6.25 inches; the circumference of the bars of the weight tree are only 6.00 inches, making the use of Olympic collars impossible.
I noticed that nobody in any of their reviews here have had issue with this, which means that they simply must not use collars on their tree. That's fine, but if companies are going to post warnings about potential hazards of using their equipment, they should at least make it so that the measures they suggest can be used.
